The Talbot Gallery and Studios were
established in the Summer of 2005 by Elaine
Grainger to promote emerging artists and to
provide a space they can work and exhibit. The
layout of the Gallery and Studios, with the work
and exhibition space situated close together,
creates a unique atmosphere , with a social
and creative energy that permeates the entire
building.
The Talbot Gallery has an exciting artistic
programme ahead which will endeavour to
captivate new audiences, showing work
from artists that is both fresh and engaging.
Elaine Grainger is an artist and owner of the
Talbot Gallery & Studios. She studied Fine
Art in Galway and Graphic Design at I.D.A.T
and graduated in 1994.After travelling
around the world for two years she returned
home with a collection of ideas and
photographs with which she set
to work with.
Elaine's return to painting saw her create a very personal
body of work and it was while looking for a space to
exhibit, that the Talbot Gallery evolved. It became quite
apparent that there was very few places for young
emerging artists to show there work.
Elaine Grainger had her first solo show in the beautiful
space above Graingers Pub Following the success of the
show and the apparent interest in the space. The Talbot
Gallery and Studios were established creating a place
where artists can work and exhibit.
The Talbot Gallery will continue it's Life
Drawing Sessions.
